Everyone sounds the same now

Written by Ash Roy | Jun 5, 2026 12:00:31 AM

Try this.

Open LinkedIn and read five posts in a row.

Notice anything?

I find they all start to sound the same.

They all tend to have a hook, a lesson and some kind of learning at the end.

They're well written but forgettable.

I don't think there's anything wrong with letting AI have the first crack and putting together the skeleton of your post but if you don't actually take the time to read the post (and ideally rewrite it in your own words) it kinda sounds a bit meh.

The structure's usually good and the lesson's clear but it's just ... forgettable.

There's a certain charm in posts that have a certain 'messiness' to them. They sound more 'human'. (Go figure).

To me, polished content is no longer enough. If anything, it's the unvarnished personal take on things that stands out more.

Having a clear 'point of view' makes content worth reading.

That's what carries the conviction!

The people who stand out aren't the people posting the most.

It's the people who have lived experience that led them to a personal perspective on something and are now passionate enough to say it ... with conviction.

Do you agree?

P.S.

If you want to go deeper on this, I am running a small workshop in Sydney on Friday 3 July: how to use AI and LinkedIn to attract your next ideal client, without losing your voice in the process.

It is three hours, in person at CPA Australia, capped at 15 seats so the room stays a conversation rather than a lecture.

We will work through the LinkedIn positioning shift that gets the right person to book a call, build an AI workflow that writes in your voice, a live build you take home and run, and leave with a 30-day plan you can actually follow.

Early-bird seats are $150 + GST while they last: productiveinsights.com/workshop-july

What is the one idea you keep meaning to say but haven't yet? Hit reply and tell me. I read every one.

Ciao for now,

Ash
