Stepping into the Australia Business Show 2025 at Sydney's iconic Darling Harbour was a breath of fresh air—well, mostly fresh, with just a dash of nervous excitement.
If you’ve ever been curious about what really happens behind the scenes at these major business expos, you’re in for a treat.
Right as I arrived at the Sydney International Business Centre, I was greeted by an impressive stretch of stalls, though the crowd was lighter than expected.
Turns out, that’s the perfect environment to have real, meaningful conversations without the usual conference chaos.
One highlight was running into my client, Clayton Navarro, whose agency VA World Outsourcing had a strong presence at the event.
Clayton’s no stranger to helping businesses thrive—from solo entrepreneurs to companies turning over $10 million, his team delivers administrative, marketing, and customer service solutions that boost capacity and cut costs (up to 70% savings for his clients is no small feat!).
More than just a business leader, Clayton brought real personality to the expo, sharing everything from secret cooking ambitions to hair care confessions (spoiler: the no-shampoo club gained two new members that day).
Networking at the show meant connecting with a diverse range of service-based business owners, sparking new possibilities for collaboration and uncovering industry trends.
There was plenty of inspiration in the air—not to mention fun moments like trying out VA World’s mini putting green, which doubled as the day’s most unexpected icebreaker.
For me, this event was more than ticking boxes on a networking checklist. It was about building genuine connections, drawing on years of experience (including a special shoutout to the Australian Society of CPAs for recognizing my 30-year membership milestone!), and injecting a bit of humor and humanity into professional growth.
