AI Is Coming for Us (But I’ve Got a Plan)

Apologies for the alarmist subject line but I think it's true. AI is here to stay and it's critical that we get on the right side of it.

 

AI seems to have exploded into our lives over the last few years and I've felt a mix of dread, anxiety and exhilaration. To say I'm ambivalent would be an understatement!

 

We're in the middle of a massive shift. And while everyone’s busy shouting “AI will replace us!” — I’m sitting over here thinking:

Only if we let it.

 

The Real Threat Isn’t AI

I don't think I'm likely to be replaced by AI. I think I'm likely to be replaced by a human who can use AI better than I can.

The real danger isn’t robots.

It’s irrelevance.

AI Is a Multiplier — Not a Savior

The people who win this game won’t be the ones who rely on AI to write their sales pages and do their thinking.

 

It’ll be the ones who use AI to amplify what’s already sharp.


Your voice. Your ability to connect.

 

AI can scale your brilliance. But it can’t fabricate it.

 

Here's Where I think Most People Are Using It Wrong

AI isn’t magic. It’s a mirror.

 

If you feed it vague inputs, it’ll give you generic outputs.


That’s not innovation — that’s just… laziness.

 

And here’s the problem:

 

If everyone’s using the same prompts and generating the same mediocre content —


you’re not standing out. You’re blending in.

 

So Here’s What I’m Doing Instead

  1. Training It to Sound Like Me

When creating content I manually edit what AI produces and ask it to remember the changes so it 'learns my voice' over time.

 

It's still got some way to go but it's getting better every day. 


AI is my assistant.

I’m still the creative director.

  1. I Turn Templates Into Tools

Most people stop at “generate.”

I go further: I create re-usable workflows.

  • Writing frameworks

  • Research engines

  • Headline testers

  • Audience warm-up scripts

All powered by AI. All tailored to my voice, my niche, my buyer.

I use CustomGPTs to create leverage and scale.

I’m building offers around strategy, insight, and trust — the things machines can’t replicate.

Because the future doesn’t belong to the fastest typist. It belongs to the person who understands human emotion and has empathy. That's what I believe anyway.

Could this have been written by anyone with a prompt?

If the answer is yes — it’s time to consider reframing it in your own voice.
